Le sigh.
THINGS THAT ZAP THE SEX-AY
- Antidepressants (not all; check w/your doc)
- Antiandrogen drugs
- Booze (in excess)
- Chronic illness/pain
- Depression
- Fatigue
- Hops
- In-laws (if you live with them, for instance)
- Iron deficiency (in women, particularly)
- Licorice! (Excessive consumption of licorice lowers testosterone levels in men. So just sniff it, don't eat it!)
- Low levels of testosterone
- Marjoram
- Menopause
- Opiods
- Other medications (like those for high blood pressure, for example)
- Pregnancy
- Quinine
- Raising children (all ages)
- Refined carbohydrates
- Stress
- Valerian
Please, folks: if you suspect that/wonder if any of the above meds/substances have zapped your libido, for the love of all that's holy, talk to your docs before you stop/start taking them. If you really need your blood pressure meds, there may be other ways to deal with the lowered libido, so just chillax and don't go self-medicating, 'k? Thanks.

Yes, yes, yes! These are good. Children is my problem right now. Mine range from almost 15 to 3. The oldest knows too much so we have to be careful of noise level ;) and the 3 year old likes to walk in. O_o
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such awesome "Sex-ay" info during the challenge! I've learned so much girl.
Thanks so much for being a regular visitor, Dani. Wish I could've had my shit together and done the same for you. :-(
DeleteMy libido was dead long b/f I took antidepressants. As it turns out it was the partner, not me, what killed it. I have ZERO problems in that department with my guy now.
ReplyDeleteLe rawr! ;-)
DeleteIron deficiency? Oops...
ReplyDeleteIt has been great to read your A to Z! Thank you! :)
Thanks!
DeleteFor me, the biggest anaphrodisiac is the word "No." :-)
ReplyDeleteAs is right and proper. :-)
Delete(How'd things go w/your co-worker the other night???)
Unfortunately, a very polite and very respectful decline. :-)
DeleteAh. I didn't get that the your comment and that event were connected. I'm sorry, Dude. :-(
DeleteNo worries. I'll work up the courage to ask someone else. :-)
DeleteBugger! There's a few of those on my list. However, I like more of the thing's that you mentioned before so I think I'm onto a winner!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Mina! You knocked it outta the park girlfriend :)
Thanks so much, Juliette. I look forward to catching up on the rest of Sophie's story on your blog!
DeleteLiving with your in-laws definitely makes romance a challenge. Congrats on making it all the way to the end.

Thank you, and ditto!
DeleteWhat a fitting way to end the challenge - you've armed us with enough info to keep the sex-ay going for a loooong time! Congrats on completing the A to Z, and see you 'round the blog/block.
ReplyDeleteJess/Blogging on the Brink
Thanks, Jessica. PS: I received my order of the Jaqua Buttercream Frosting lotion - smells like frosting! One of my co-workers tried it out and actually licked her own arm, it smelled so yum! :-)
DeleteOh completely. Especially the children and the mother-in-law!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Valerie
Word! :-)
DeleteZappers indeed - who needs 'em
ReplyDeleteLOL - pas moi!
DeleteThere were so many zappers contributing to my dysfunctional ex's pathetic libido, including the fact that he still lived with his parents, getting the phone in the middle of sexual things (usually his Harpy mommy wanting to know what little Ssssserrrrr-YYYYYOOOO-zhaaaaaa!!! wanted from the store), having a bunch of DSM disorders, no kissing, you name it.
ReplyDeleteGAH! Who answers the phone during sexy intercourse??????? BOOOOOO to him!
DeleteI feel zapped today! So no fun for anyone
ReplyDeleteGreat A to Z blog posts!
Thanks for stopping by mine and commenting. Time to rest, well, after IWSG :)
Thank you too, Yolanda - you've done a far better job keeping up with me than I did keeping up with you! But I'll try to make up for it!
DeleteI will use your posts for further reference whenever I need them, hahaha. Congratulations on finishing. Yeah! :D
ReplyDeleteIgualmente, Senor Diaz!
DeleteOh the raising kids...both sad and relieved to see it on the list! Congratulations on the zapping finish!
ReplyDeleteMerci and ditto!
DeleteI especially agree with the offspring deterrent *new puppies could be on there too* I've thoroughly enjoyed your posts and look forward to following your witty banter beyond the challenge finish line:)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Sam
At least puppies don't sass ya. ;-)
DeleteGreat job with these posts Mina! It was informative and entertaining. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a few of the things on your list but my libido must be a bit like the energizer bunny lol. I'll be back to visit you more now that the challenge(s) are over.
Congrats on finishing yet another A to Z!
Ditto and I hope to get more regular about visiting my fave blogs again too. (((((Tracy)))))
DeleteCongrats on finishing the Challenge! I loved your theme. I learned a lot, and yeah, pregnancy turns me off too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you as well, and thanks, and likewise! Sorry I didn't follow along with your posts consistently, though. :-(
