Blog Props ~ Absconditus Creations

It's time for my monthly Blog Props, or words of praise for a fellow blogger's work.

For today's Props, I feature the blog of someone I "met" through the Blogging from A to Z Challenge this past April. Nikki Parker, New Zealand native, is the talent behind Absconditus Creations, aka "Art of a Hidden Heart."

Absconditus Creations, aka Art of a Hidden Heart

One look at that banner should tell you what drew me to this blog — the whimsical darkness, of course! Her art contains elements that evoke, for me, the fantastical expression of works by Edward Gorey and Tim Burton and I just la-la-LOVE IT!!!

Nikki's created a Facebook page for Absconditus Creations, which hosts much more of her fabulous art. I urge y'all to "Like" it by clicking here. And if you'd like to wear some of these groovy creations, you can shop for them here.

The above images belong to Nikki Parker and have been posted here with her kind permission.

  1. Hi thanks for visiting my blog. There was so many blogs during a-z challenge I didn't get round them all. There's certainly plenty to read here. Love your blog.

  2. It's definitely Gorey-esque. Oh hey I know what will entice you to come up this way...the Edward Gorey House is on Cape Cod. I've been there. I need to go again so that I can look for all the Gashlycrumb Tinies, who are hidden throughout the house. Last time I was there, I took the tour and only shot pics of a couple of them that were obvious.

    1. First - you don't need to work too hard to make me want to visit the Cape. My family went on vacation there AGES ago, when my sis and I were teens. We were under our parents' thumb and I long to go back now, as an adult, and really live it up. Plus, I adore the ocean.

      Second - OHMIGOSH, I didn't know about Gorey's house. GAH, NOW I REALLY CAN'T STAND THAT I CAN'T AFFORD TO GO!!!!!!!!!! :-(

  11. This is nice work - I am too lazy to give out blog awards most of the time. But I would certainly give you an award in spirit because your blog is always edgy and intresting and has that scary red 'enter if you dare' kind of label.

  12. Christine and Daisy, glad you like!

David, LOL - Edgy, eh? Well, I'm glad *somebody* thinks so! I've just got that "adult content" warning 'cause I like to talk le sexy on occasion and also want the freedom to shoot off a few obscenities, if I'm so inclined. :-)
